Starting Thursday, April 8, Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is free to play on Steam. If you've missed out on playing this game because of your boycott, now's the chance to do so, free of cost. It may not be as tight as Call of Duty 4, but you'll still have a lot of fun with it if you enjoyed the first.
I understand the premise of the free to play weekend, but realistically, don't think it will turn into converted sales because of the high cost of the game. I'll give this a shot, even thought I already have the game on 360, because I'd like to see how the gameplay compares. Even though it's just a pipe dream, it'd be great if they released a low cost, multiplayer only option for games like this; something in the range of $15-20. It's not going to happen because 5 maps just cost me $15 in the Xbox Marketplace, but that's a soapbox for another day.
