Many people think as console gaming as the main source of gaming but actually its just one of the many ways to play games. Half life and counter strike are all very good examples of pc to console ports but one of the many not so well known way of porting games for pc to console is via xbox live marketplace, wii ware or the playstation network.

In the not so distant future you will probably be sitting in front of your computer or TV screen adorned with your fancy schmancy 3-D glasses dodging as your video game tries to attack you through your screen.  With the latest infusion of 3-D to the movie theatre, you can rest assured that the gaming industry isn’t far off.

I got home from work last Friday with every intention of trying APB when the servers went live.  The clock hit 8:30 pm, it had slipped my mind that the server went live at 7:00 pm and I had to watch Caprica on SyFy at 9, so that didn’t give me much time.  I go to my computer and ran the game (that took forever to download in their shitty downloader), login, and bam some bullshit about my account being blocked.  For those of you that missed it, I announced on Thursday that I had been invited to join the closed beta for APB.  (Click here if you want to check it out).

It feels like forever ago that I signed up, I've been watching all their podcasts and very much looking forward to their beta. Well I officially got my invite to the APB beta. Here is what it looks like for anyone that did not get one, or anyone that might have had it go into their spam folder.

Last night I ran out and picked up a game that I have been waiting for awhile.  I would go into my history with Final Fantasy games, but I’m sure no one cares.  So anyway, I get home, crack open a beer, and pop in the disc.  The hairs on my arm stand as I watch the intro CGI scene.  This CGI is beautiful.

I’m sure you’ve seen the opening sequence on youtube or wherever, but in HD on my 52” LCD Samsung TV combined with 5.1 surround sound (just trying to grow my e-peen a little), there is really no comparison.  For those of you that haven't seen it:

Over Christmas, I'd received a gift card to Best Buy and decided the money would best be spent on some Xbox 360 Platinum Hits; one of which was Saints Row 2. I've long been a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series and its clones long since the days of the top down over-pixeled shooter. Picking up Saints Row 2 was a no brainer because I enjoyed the first and just never got around to purchasing the second.
