What are you investing your skill points into?
Right now I'm going towards the assault rifle spec, and some basic healing / reviving. I reached the point last night where I can respec. I might continue on the assault rifle path for now, and see if I can get better at it.
If I don't I'll probably switch over to the MG path, and just spray and pray.

Right now, I'm sticking with the MG loadout; I unlocked the 5 point MG and it was worth every penny. Combine it with a health kit and you can rack up some serious XP in a match.

I was finally convinced to respec to the mg path, and I can actually get kills now. You're right it's not as much spray and pray, and lends itself well to my play style (aka, run in a room full of baddies like a crazy retard). With my respec I did buy that other rocket launcher, and it's really cool, but it's way too heavy to carry with my mg and a med pac, so I might respec again just to get rid of that (it cost 5 damn skill points).

Surprisingly, the MG isn't "spray and pray" as you put it. If you can get the fore grip and improved stability it's quite accurate and easy to shoot at a target. And with a bigger clip, and more stopping power, I chose it over the assault rifle. Other than that, I have the Medical Kit with Resuscitation, improved repair and will be getting the toxic grenades as I spec down the line (APM (Claymore), ATM (Tank Mine) then finally the toxic grenade).
